|
We want to let you know about a new grant opportunity related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic called the Education Stabilization Fund, which is an umbrella program covering three separate grants – one focused on elementary and secondary schools, another on institutions of higher education, and the third on the most significantly impacted educational agencies in a Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa.
Key Points
- More than $30 billion has been made available to schools across the country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- There are three grant programs through which funding is being distributed to schools on an expedited basis through a very simple front-end process.
- There is generally broad flexibility in how this funding may be used as long as there is a nexus to coronavirus prevention, preparation and response activities.
- Schools should consider investing some of this funding in school safety technology as it will play a critical role in keeping students and school personnel safe and healthy upon their return to campuses around the country.
Unlike typical time-consuming grant programs that require a lot of upfront paperwork, these grants utilize a highly expedited and simplified process to help your customers quickly get access to these emergency funds. Money for elementary and secondary schools will be allocated by district from the State through an application process. The State receives the funds from the Department of Education within three business days of submitting an online Certification and Agreement. |
